Our TV stand supports a 54" large screen TV which occupies a corner in our family room where it looks great, and at home, among an eclectic mix of furniture styles and periods; from some 19th century antiques to 1950's collectibles. The most important (practical) feature is that the stand holds all of the TV's supporting equipment (cable box, various receivers, and other electronics), except for a large and cumbersome ("surround sound") woofer which we knew would not fit.
Because our family room/den is not large we opted for a relatively small TV stand rather than a larger stand which could hold the woofer but would look out of proportion and take up too much space.
In addition to the TV stand's practicality, it looks beautiful. While not solid cherry, the substantial wood composition board, over which a very good quality cherry veneer is laid, gives the stand the appearance of being made of a solid, high grade wood. Therefore, in addition to strong design features, handsome finish, thick, high-quality beveled glass doors and well-tooled details, the TV stand looks deceptively expensive. We are completely pleased with our purchase and could not recommend it more highly.
Oh yeah, last but certainly not least: assembly instructions were very easy to follow, assembly components (screws, door pulls, Allen wrench, etc.) were not only all present and accounted for, but well-organized; and most important it took only one weary "handyman" husband (in addition to the company of one oft-intruding wife and two moderately dismayed dogs) under three hours to assemble the TV stand.
Please note: The only "negative" was that two screw "heads" broke off when being screwed in with an electric screwdriver; fortunately, my husband had extra screws in his tool box.
