Vanity Seeker from Washington DC
Overall, we're pleased with this vanity (it does not come with seat as shown). We looked at a lot of them and it seems like they all require a lot of assembly so we couldn't avoid it. But we weren't quite prepared for how MUCH assembly! It seemed like there were hundreds of pieces. And it was very heavy so we had to take everything out of the box downstairs and carry the pieces up (many trips) to assemble. The instructions were pretty good and it wasn't too difficult (except one part I'll mention in a moment) but it was very tedious and time consuming. NOT a one-person job. Two of us spent about 3-1/2 hrs opening the box, carrying upstairs and assembling, and then we spent an extra 1-2 hours figuring out a way to make the knobs work (below). The instructions don't mention it, but an electric screwdriver/power tool (philips head and regular head) is a MUST. There is NO WAY we could have assembled this with regular screwdrivers. The only thing that went terribly wrong--and this must be a design issue--is we could not get the handles on because it requires getting a bolt through a recessed part of a drawer that cannot be reached. We tried using tweezers, pliers, my college-aged kid tried, my husband came in and tried...we gave up and came back to it another day. We finally rigged a weird contraption with a needle and thread, which I don't know how to describe succinctly, and managed to use the thread to guide the bolt through the hole. WHEW! Also there are many parts left and we don't know what we left out or if they were just extras (haha) but all seems fine and it looks nice. Wouldn't want to do it again.
